Galio is the newest addition to the ever-expanding roster of NBA stars who have been living in garage spaces in the past few years.
The Cleveland Cavaliers star is building a two-bedroom, four-bathroom home in the backyard of his former home in Las Vegas.
Galio has long been a member of the sports world and has made multiple appearances on television shows like NBA Countdown, Inside the NBA and SportsCenter, where he was named “Best NBA Player” for the 2015-16 season.
“I was always a basketball player,” he told MTV News, “but when I was younger I wasn’t interested in sports because I was too busy studying.
I would play the game but I didn’t really have a passion for it.”
The Cavaliers have been rumored to be shopping Galio and his wife, Ciara, a two bedroom, two bathroom home in L.A., but sources say the plans for the home are on hold.
Galios first home in Los Angeles was the home he purchased in 2013 for $1.9 million, but the couple has been busy building the home, according to a story in the Los Angeles Times.
In addition to his own garage, the couple built a home for their two children in Santa Monica and has also built an entire home for his daughter, who was born in Los Alamos, N.M., in 2015.
“The house is completely complete,” he said, according the story.
“It’s not even finished yet, but we are in the process of building it.
We are very excited.”
The home, which is about 5,200 square feet, was designed by architect David Riegel, who has also designed homes in Brooklyn and Houston.
