Building a house from scratch can be tricky, but it’s far easier with the help of the new Kaisa.
Auckland builder Tom Tomsse says he’s using the service to build the first house on the west coast of New Zealand.
“It’s been a real eye opener for me,” he says.
“I’ve been doing it for a long time and it’s really nice to have this one tool that really works well.”
Kaisa uses the same technology to build homes across the country, but with more options to get started.
Tom says the process of creating a house takes around four months, but the process can be sped up if you can get a builder to do it for you.
Kaisa also allows you to pay for the job yourself.
“There’s a bit of a cost, but I’ve found that it’s worth it,” he said.
“You don’t have to worry about the builder coming and taking a lot of work out of you, it’s all automated and it comes from you.”
If you’re not really sure what kind of house you want, they will do a lot more research and they can offer you different things, it really helps you get a bit more specific and find the one that works for you.
“Tom says he has seen some builders getting more than $10,000 out of a house built with the service.
Tom hopes the Kaisa service will also help him get a foot in the property market, where prices are soaring. “
Once I realised how easy it is to get a house done with Kaisa, I thought, well, I can do more.”

Tom said the Kaisseas home will be a home for both the family and his partner. “
So it’s quite a big amount of money, and if it goes to $300k, that’s quite an eye opener.”

“She’s a real estate agent and I’m just the guy who does the construction.”
