BUFFALO, N.Y. — BMW built the ultimate rideable bike at a high-profile New York auto show Monday, announcing the first new-generation BMW X6 for the United States.
The company said the new X6 will arrive in 2019.
It is the first BMW X5 model that will be built in the U.S. since the BMW M6 model was introduced in 2005.
BMWs X5 and X6 models are built on the same platform, but each model offers different features.
For the new model, BMW chose to build the X6 in the city of Buffalo, where it will be manufactured.
This is a first for the X5 line.
The X5 is the most affordable model available in the BMW lineup, priced from $28,800.
Bimmer said the X4 model is being offered in the states of Arizona, California, Florida and Nevada, and will be available in 2018.
While the new BMW X4 is aimed at a younger demographic, the company said it was able to build it because it wanted to offer a more affordable option to a younger segment.
In the past, the X2 and X3 were the most popular models available in BMW lineup.
With the new models, BMW said it will offer a wide range of options to the younger customers.
“This new generation of the BMW X2, X3 and X4 models, will offer riders of all ages a range of comfort and style, while providing the ultimate vehicle for all ages,” BMW said in a statement.
To be clear, the new versions of these vehicles are not yet on the market.
They are still very much a work in progress.
